My friends and I decided to have a break from graduate school.
This time, en route to Western Visayas.
After going through our bucket list, majority of us chose to explore Iloilo. From there, we booked a flight going to Iloilo airport and the adventure begun.
Away from the busy streets and hectic environment of Manila, Iloilo offers a serene spot for relaxation and leisure activities. This province is once a center of commerce and trade during the Spanish colonization. Being a colony of a foreign nation influence the province's geographical structures.
As tourists, we can't miss the historical and religious landmarks of Iloilo.
First Goal: Church Hopping
1. National Shrine of Our Lady of the Candles
(Jaro Cathedral)
2. Parish of St. Anne (Molo Church)
3. St. John of Sahagun Church (Tigbauan Church)
4. San Jose Church
5. Another Iloilo Church
6. Church of Saint Thomas of Villanova
(Miag-ao Church)
Other Churches
Second Goal: Visit Unibersidad ng Pilipinas Visayas
Reminisce peyups days at UP Iloilo.
here's the picture of Obli.
this facade of this university is the replica of that in UP Diliman.
Third Goal: Divulge to breathtaking views and other historical sites
Fourth Goal: Feed ourselves with Ilonggo food.
Savor Ilonggo cuisine.
Fresh sea foods at its finest. Don't miss food trip at Ilonngo style. Try Tatoy's Restaurant and Breakthrough.
SUPER sulit and happy tummy.
Believe me. You'll never go hungry when you're in Iloilo.
Of course, we have to try the authentic La Paz Batchoy.
This Iloilo escapade is really a vacation to remember. I would really recommend this place to those who wish to explore any province from Visayas. The place, the people, and the food itself is enough to make you feel like home.
We indeed discover Iloilo’s secrets — from the warm islands up north to the cold highlands down south. Discover the joy of a province full of historical sites, tropical beaches, and natural wonders. #itsmorefuninthePhilippines
